Garstang
Garstang is a market town and civil parish located in Lancashire, England. It is situated on the banks of the River Wyre, and is about 10 miles north of the city of Preston. The town has a population of around 16,000 people. Garstang has a long history, with evidence of settlement dating back to the Neolithic period. It was an important centre for the wool trade during the medieval period, and was granted a market charter in 1310 by King Edward II. The town's economy later shifted to agriculture, with the surrounding countryside being known for its fertile farmland. Today, Garstang is a popular tourist destination, known for its historic buildings, independent shops, and picturesque setting.
