Fleetwood is a town located on the northwest coast of England, in the county of Lancashire. It is situated between the towns of Blackpool and Morecambe, and is part of the larger borough of Wyre. Historically, Fleetwood was an important fishing port and was built in the mid-19th century by Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood as a planned town to serve as a port for the fishing industry. Today, although the fishing industry has declined, Fleetwood remains an important port for cargo and passenger ferries, as well as for offshore wind energy. Fleetwood has a population of around 25,000 people and is known for its sandy beach, marina, and traditional Victorian architecture. It is also home to a number of landmarks and attractions, including the Fleetwood Museum, the North Euston Hotel, and the Mount Pavilion, which offers panoramic views of Morecambe Bay.
